Johnny Cash, or "the man in black," made country music popular throughout America. Cash mixed Country with Rock n' roll, and blues. He was known for his deep voice, good beat, and for the fact that his music was mixed with country, rock n' roll, and blues. He had a diverse audience, for some were rock n' roll fans, some were country fans, and some were blues fans.
Johnny Cash started his career singing on radio stations. Then he joined the air force, and while he was in the airfare he wrote two songs that were viewed as country hits when he got back. These two songs were "Folsom Prison Blues" and "Hey Porter." Then Cash started a minnie band, and signed with sun records-the same record label that Elvis Presley was signed to. Johnny Cash became one of the most famous country singers as he wrote each hit, especially "I walk the line." He later signed with Colombia record labels and released a new hit, "Great Ball of fire."
