Many music or record industries grew during this time period because of the consumerism. The consumerism in 1950 was partially caused by the growth of the music industry sales. Many people were buying more and more more, and being tricked into buying whole albums since the one song that they liked was on that album. As artists became more popular, so did consumerism, with sales of records, record players, radios, tape recorder, and transistor run mechanisms.
