The 1950's developed a whole new type of music, called rock n' roll. Rock n' roll was a new genre, created from the mixture of "rhythm and blues" and a little bit of "country". Little Richard said, "Rhythm and Blues had a baby and somebody named it rock n' roll. Rock n' roll lead to new artists, new ways of listening to music, and a new era of teenagers.

Country and blues were other big forms of music in the 1950's. The 1950's country music had a mix of blues and rock n' roll in it. Although country music wasn't as popular than rock n' roll, some good artists came from this , like Johnny cash, an esteemed country singer.
